PHILOSOPHY – Evolution: The Right Path?

Desde que Charles Darwin escribiera su famoso libro El Origen de Las Especies, tanto detractores como defensores de sus teorías siguen después de 200 años polemizando sobre si llevaba razón o no.  Yo tengo que admitir que nunca leí sus libros, aun así tengo mi peculiar opinión sobre la Evolución.  Como ejemplo me he atrevido a poner a Juan Sebastián Bach.  Mi teoría seria que en este caso, la evolución puede ser asumida como un acierto total y lógico.  Eso sí, dejando a un lado cualquier recelo de motivo religioso.  Es de lógica pensar que la grandeza de Bach no nació por generación espontanea, y para que su cerebro compusiera La Pasión según San Mateo en 1726.  Tuvieron que pasar cientos de miles de años desde el hombre primitivo del Neanderthal, hasta la época gloriosa en que en el cerebro de Bach se instaló la fiebre compositora, dejándonos a la humanidad su impagable legado.

Qué mayor prueba, que con Bach la evolución hizo bien su labor.  Sin embargo no siempre la evolución ha sido tan magnánima con los humanos.  Tenemos los ejemplos en mi atrevida opinión de los errores evolutivos, que se dieron en los cerebros de Hitler, Stalin y los descubridores de la Energía Atómica.  Y digo error pues nunca debieron de evolucionar de Pez a Humano.  Mas este no fue el caso y la Evolución le jugó a la humanidad una mala pasada, dejándo que estos angelitos se alojaran en un cerebro humano.  Esté es el motivo de mi perdida de fe en la Evolución, la dualidad entre el bien representado por Bach y el mal instalado en el cerebro de estos miserables.

Al final para corregir este error dentro de 100 años, la clonación nos podría dar la respuesta.  En ese caso esto sería interpretado como el reinado del hombre nuevo y su potestad en la tierra.  Mientras tanto sigamos con nuestras faltas y carencias.  Y envidiemos de una manera sana a unos insignificantes gusanos de seda.

Ever since Charles Darwin wrote his famous book The Origin of the Species, both supporters and critics of his theories have spent more than 200 years arguing about the logic or lack of behind the theories.  I must admit that I never read his books, but even so I have my own peculiar opinion on Evolution.  As an example I have been bold enough to put forward Juan Sebastian Bach.  My theory in this case would be that evolution can be demonstrated as a total and logical success.  Very much so, that is if we leave aside any opposition on religious grounds.  It is logical to think that the greatness of Bach did not arise out of spontaneous propagation, so that his brain could compose St Matthew’s Passion in 1726.  Many hundreds of thousands of years had to pass, from the primitive man of the Neanderthal, to the glorious time during which Bach took up composing and left his invaluable legacy for the rest of humanity.

There cannot be better evidence than this that with Bach, evolution did its great work.  Nevertheless evolution has not always been so magnanimous with humans.  We have had examples of the errors of evolution that occurred in the brains of Hitler, Stalin and the pioneers of Atomic Energy.  And I use the word error, as they should never have been allowed to evolve from a Fish to Human.  But this it was not the case and Evolution played a cruel joke on humanity, leaving the bad seed in the brains of these tyrants.  This is the reason for my lack of faith in Evolution, the duality that exists between the good represented by Bach and the bad that has been established in the brains of these miserable people.

At the end of the day, cloning could be the path that would give us the solution within 100 years.  In that case this would be interpreted as the reign of the New Man and his authority on Earth.  In the meantime we will have to carry on with our shortcomings and deficiencies.  And we will continue to envy the insignificant worms of silk in the most positive way.

RELIGION – Charvaka the Great Hindu Atheist

Siempre había creído que todo lo concerniente al ateísmo estaba ya más que preconcebido en los textos de Democrito, Epicuro y Protagoras.  Y en la época más moderna en los Enciclopedistas franceses de la Ilustración del siglo XVIII con Diderot, D.Alembert, y el mas furibundo de ellos, el Barón D.Holbach.  Mas es para mí un descubrimiento saber que fue un hindú el primer filosofo ateo de la Historia.  Este personaje se llamaba Charvaka, un filósofo materialista que vivió en el siglo VI antes de Cristo.  Él fundó una escuela de filosofía abiertamente ateísta y empírica llamada Lokayata o Charvaka.  Charvaka escribió el texto en sanscrito, Barjaspatia Sutra, donde criticaba las doctrinas hinduistas, < la existencia del alma, el Karma, la reencarnación>.  Su obra fue totalmente prohibida por varios monarcas religiosos, y finalmente desaparecida.  Su doctrina ha sobrevivido sin embargo a través de textos jaimistas, budistas, e hinduistas.  Charvaka era profundamente escéptico respecto a los dogmas védicos.  Él veía al mundo como algo cambiante y fortuito, y consideraba que la meta de la Humanidad era la búsqueda de la felicidad y la supresión pragmática del sufrimiento.  Él mantenía la teoría de que el alma no existe, púes consideraba que lo que es llamado así es en realidad una manifestación física del cuerpo.  Para él la percepción es la única fuente de conocimiento objetivo, por lo que el razonamiento es rechazado a no ser que se limite meramente a describir.

La filosofía de Charvaka tenía un curioso sistema ético.  Proclamaba que el único ideal admisible es la evitación del dolor y la búsqueda del placer, ya que la vida terrenal es la única que tendremos.  Para los Charvaka no existe la vida futura y todas las religiones son pura fantasías desde donde se establecen centros de poder.  Los clérigos son haraganes que hablan contra el materialismo, el comercio. A favor de la espiritualidad por que no les gusta trabajar y pueden ganar favores y riquezas, basándose en la ignorancia del pueblo o gente común, los Vedas son un montón de palabras vacías y sin sentido, como todos los libros sagrados.  Pará los seguidores de Charvaka, Dios simplemente no existe.

Conclusión: Este señor estaba en contra del sistema religioso de la India, que a través del Brahmanismo tenia y aun tiene dividida a la sociedad de la India en castas superiores e inferiores.  La imagen de la India es vista siempre desde un prisma entre místico o contemplativo.  Sobre todo si leemos los textos sagrado como Upanishads, El Bagavad Gita, o el Dhamapada.  Charvaka desmontó ese mundo de los Vedas con su filosofía ateísta y nihilista.

I always thought that everything concerning atheism had already been well documented in the texts of Democritus, Epicurus and Protagoras.  And during the modern era we have the illustrations of the French Encyclopedia in the 18th century with Diderot, D.Alembert, and the most vehement of them all, Baron D. Holbach.  But it is something new for me to discover that the first atheistic philosopher in history was a Hindu.  This person was called Charvaka, a materialistic philosopher who lived in the 6^th century before Christ.  He founded a school of an open atheistic and empirical philosophy called Lokayata or Charvaka.  Charvaka wrote the text in Sanskrit, called Barjaspatia Sutra, in which he criticized the Hinduism doctrines, < the existence of the soul, Karma, reincarnation>.  His work was totally prohibited by several religious monarchs, and it disappeared in the end.  His doctrine has survived nevertheless through the texts of the Jaimists, Buddhists and Hinduists.  Charvaka was deeply skeptical with respect to the Vedic dogmas.  He saw the world as something variable and fortuitous, and he considered that the goal of Humanity was the search of happiness and the pragmatic suppression of suffering.  He maintained the theory that the soul does not exist as he considered that it is in fact the physical manifestation of one´s body.  For him perception is the only source of objective knowledge, thus reasoning is rejected unless it is merely used to describe.

Brahma

The philosophy of Charvaka is supported by a peculiar ethical system.  He proclaimed that the only permissible ideal is the avoidance of pain and the search for pleasure, since the terrestrial life is the only one that we have.  For the Charvaka future life does not exist and all the religions are pure fantasies from where the power nuclei have been established.  The clergymen are just lazybones who spoke against materialism, commerce. They were in favor of spirituality so that they did not have to work and they could gain favors and wealth just by taking advantage of the ignorance of the simple folk or common people; to them the Vedas are just a pile of empty words and without any sense, just like all sacred books.  For the followers of Charvaka, God simply does not exist.

Conclusion: This gentleman was against the religious system of India, which through Brahmanism had been and still is divided into various castes within its society.  The image of India has always been viewed through a prism that is mystical or contemplative.  This is especially so if we were to read the sacred texts like the Upanishads, the Bagavad Gita, or the Dhamapada.  Charvaka dismantled that world of the Vedas with its atheistic and nihilistic philosophy.

HISTORY – Thomas Muntzer versus Lutero

Pocas veces en la historia de las rebeliones sociales en Europa hubo un caso tan impactante como el de las sublevaciones campesinas en Alemania en el 1524.  Las protestas fueron iniciadas por dos teólogos protestante, Sebastián Franck y Thomas Muntzer.  Su rebelión tenía todo los componentes de las antiguas sublevaciones milenaristas llevada a cabo por los seguidores de Cristo.  Para el estudioso del Socialismo Max Beer, Muntzer reunía todas las cualidades de un perfecto anarquista, debido a su vigor y carácter independiente, como por su gran elocuencia al dirigirse a las masas de campesinos.  Los sucesos ocurrieron en 1524 en el sudoeste de Alemania y se fueron propagando de una forma rápida a Turingia.  Allí Muntzer se incorporó a la rebelión donde de inmediato supo organizar células clandestinas.  El año siguiente 1525 la rebelión se había extendido a la región de Bohemia incorporándose a ella miles de campesinos y artesanos que exigían el reparto de las tierras.

En una carta a sus numerosos partidarios Muntzer decía lo siguiente, “Los campesinos de Heettgan, Hegan y de la Selva Negra se han levantado en numero de 3,000.  Animad a las gentes de los pueblos y ciudades, sobre todo a los mineros y a todo buen compañero.  No podemos dormirnos.  Llevad estas noticias a los mineros.  Que la espada no se enfrié.”  Las propuesta del teólogo Muntzer estaban resumida en 12 puntos, el punto 2 decia, “Por lo que atañe al diezmo, no queremos en absoluto pagarlo.”  Los revolucionarios a las órdenes de Muntzer libraron muchos combates.  Finalmente fueron aplastados, cayendo en esta encarnizada lucha más de 130,000 campesinos, una cifra que nos da una idea de la magnitud de este revolucionario movimiento.  El teólogo Muntzer no solo se enfrentó a la Aristocracia Alemana, sino también a la Iglesia oficial presidida por Lutero, el cual se había plegado a una Reforma religiosa que renegaba totalmente de los postulados sociales de Jesús.  Muntzer dirigió una requisitoria a Lutero en donde le decía, <Fijaos, las raíces de la Usura, del hurto y el robo están en la nobleza.  Ellos consideran que todos las criaturas son de su propiedad, el pez en el agua, los pájaros en el aire, las plantas en la tierra, todo es de ellos.>  En sus escritos Muntzer se lamentaba que era un escándalo que nadie se hiciera cargo de los pobres.  Usura, ratería y bandidaje es lo que practican los príncipes.  Son ellos los responsables de que los pobres se hagan sus enemigos.  Muntzer fue apresado en la batalla de Frankenhausen y entregado a su más acérrimo enemigo, el conde Ernesto de Mansfeld, quien ordenó que fuese cruelmente torturado y decapitado en mayo de 1525.

Muntzer siempre predicó contra la corrupción de la Iglesia, incluida la de Lutero.  El predicaba por la Creación del Reino de Dios en la tierra, un reino donde no existieran las diferencias de clases.  Su odio al orden establecido se manifestó al decir, <Hagamos que los poderosos y los nobles se cuelguen y estrangulen con los intestinos de los clérigos de los poderosos y de los nobles, que son quienes pisotean a los pobres, los atormentan y hacen de ellos seres desgraciados.>  Se podría decir que Muntzer fue un precursor de los movimientos anarquistas del siglo XIX.  A su manera él marco el camino como antes lo había hecho Espartaco en el año 73 antes de Cristo.

It is not very often in the history of social rebellions in Europe had there been one as impressive as that of the farmers’ revolts in Germany in 1524.  The protests were initiated by two theologian Protestants, Sebastian Franck and Thomas Muntzer.  The rebellion had all the components of the ancient revolts carried out by the followers of Christ.  For the supporter of Socialism Max Beer, Muntzer reunited all the qualities of a perfect anarchist, due to his vigor and independent character, and also his eloquence when he spoke to the masses of farmers.  The events happened in 1524 in the southwest of Germany and they propagated at a fast rate to Turingia.  It was there that Muntzer joined the rebellion, and he immediately knew how to organize clandestine cells.  The following year 1525 the rebellion had extended to the region of Bohemia, with the support of thousands of farmers and craftsmen who demanded the distribution of the land.  

In a letter to his numerous supporters, Muntzer said, “The farmers of Heettgan, Hegan and of the Black Forest; they have risen in numbers to a total of 3,000.  Motivate the people of the towns and cities, especially the miners and all good companions.  We cannot fall asleep.  Bring this news to the miners.  The fight should not falter.”  The proposal of Muntzer was summarized in 12 points; point 2 mentioned the following, “With respect to the tithe, we absolutely do not want to pay it.”  The revolutionaries, at the command of Muntzer, fought many battles.  Finally they were subdued, and more than 130,000 farmers perished in this bloody struggle, a number that gives an idea of the magnitude of this revolutionary movement.  Muntzer not only faced up to  the German Aristocracy, but also to the Church, presided over by Lutero, which had just completed religious Reforms that rejected the social postulates of Jesus.  Muntzer directed one of his accusations towards Lutero, in which he said, <The roots of usury, theft and robbery are found in the aristocracy.  They consider that all the creatures are their property, the fish in the water, the birds in the air, the plants on Earth, everything is theirs.>  In Muntzer’s writings, he lamented that it was a scandal that nobody stood behind the poor.  Usury, larceny and banditry are what the princes practice.  They are the ones responsible that the poor had become their enemies.  Muntzer was caught at the battle of Frankenhausen and handed over to his most staunch enemy, Count Ernesto of Mansfeld, who ordered that he be tortured and beheaded in May of 1525.  

Muntzer always preached against the corruption of the Church, including that of Lutero.  He preached the Creation of the Kingdom of God on Earth, a kingdom where the differences of classes did not exist.  His hatred for the established system was clear when he said,  <Let’s ensure that the powerful and aristocrats be hanged and strangled with the intestines of the clergymen of the powerful and of the aristocracy, for they are the ones who step on the poor, they torment them and they transform them into desolate beings.>  It would be possible to say that Muntzer was a precursor of the anarchist movements of 19^th century.  In his way he blazed the trail for many after him, just like Spartacus did before him in 73 BC.

VENEZUELA – Yanomamis, the Victims of New Tribes Mission

Erase una vez una tribu llamada los Yanomamis, que vivían en comunión con la Madre Naturaleza, en el inconmensurable y exuberante entorno del Alto Orinoco, la Sierra Parina, y en la cuenca de los ríos Ocamos y Mavaca.  Los Yanomamis suelen vivir en pequeñas aldeas de no más de 50 personas.  En aldeas más grandes viven sobre 300 personas.  Sus aldeas reciben el nombre de Shabono, y se construyen en círculo y están siempre abiertas.  Cuando se reúnen alrededor de la hoguera que está en el centro del Shabono, comen, conversan o fabrican sus utillajes, explican sus historias, mitos, leyendas.  Lo más importante enseñan a los niños sus tradiciones.  Los Yanomamis se desplazan continuamente.  Podríamos decir que son auténticos nómadas.  Esto seria debido al corto periodo de la productividad de sus cultivos.  Suelen cultivar platanos, ñame, batata y malanga.  La cosecha suele dura dos años.

Los Yanomamis viven desnudos.  Los hombres se atan el prepucio con un cordón de algodón que rodea la cintura, para mantener el pene alzado y adherido al vientre.  En los ritos mortuorios o reahu se acostumbra, aunque no es imprescindible, el consumo de colectivo de las cenizas de los muertos, previamente molido en un mortero.  Mientras las mujeres lloran, los hombres, parientes y amigos del difunto, sé colocan en circulo para tomar sopa de plátano en la que se han mezclado las cenizas del muerto.  Toda esta vida bucólica del buen salvaje fue rota con la llegada de los misioneros protestantes de la Nueva Tribu.  Estos señores tradujeron el Nuevo Testamento y otros textos biblicos, sustituyendo los valores en primer lugar cristiano propiamente dichos <católico, apostólicos y romanos>.  No hay que olvidar que estos pueblos fueron el resultado de la Evangelización española durante más de 300 años.  En resumen los textos que se usan en las escuelas indígenas favorecen el modo de vida y la cultura norteamericana.  Mas el verdadero interés de la Nueva Tribus en la región de la Amazonia no es solamente inculcar la Biblia a los Yanomamis.  Su único interés en la zona era los metales estratégicos tales como oro, titanio, etc.  Pero lo más terrible para los Yanomamis ocurrió en 1968 cuando fueron inoculado con una vacuna contra el Sarampión denominada Edmonton B.  Este abominable experimento causó una mortandad de varios miles de muertos en una población de 20,000 Yanomamis.  Las muertes se debieron al ser inmunizados con un producto de graves efectos colaterales.  El periodista norteamericano Patrick Tierney escribió un libro sobre este terrible caso,

El titulo del libro es Darkness in El Dorado <Oscuridad en El Dorado>.  Al final tuvo que ser Hugo Chávez el que pusiera las cosas en orden con la expulsión de los misioneros protestantes de USA que vivían en las zonas de las tribus Yanomamis.  Para Hugo Chávez estos señores de la Nueva Tribu no eran mas que simples agentes de la CIA, eso sí, con la piel de cordero.

Once there was a tribe called the Yanomamis, who lived in communion with Mother Nature, among the incommensurable and exuberant surroundings of Higher Orinoco, Sierra Parina, and at the river basin of the rivers Ocamos and Mavaca.  The Yanomamis usually live in small villages of not more than 50 people.  In bigger villages there will be about 300 people.  Their villages are known as Shabono, and they are constructed in circular forms and are always open.  When they meet around the bonfire that is in center of the Shabono, they eat, talk or make their tools; they also talk about their histories, myths, legends.  Most importantly they teach their children about their traditions.  The Yanomamis move continuously.  We could say that they are authentic nomads.  This could be due to the short cycle of their crops, which are usually bananas, ñame, sweet potato and malanga.  The harvest usually lasts two years.

The Yanomamis live naked.  The men tie their foreskin with a cotton cord that surrounds the waist, to maintain the penis raised and adhered to the belly.  In the mortuary rites or reahu, it is a custom, although it is not essential, the consumption of group of the ashes of the deceased, that had been ground in a mortar.  While the women cry, the men, relatives and friends of the deceased, form a circle to take the soup of the banana in which the ashes of the dead have been mixed.  All this bucolic savage lifestyle was interrupted with the arrival of the protestant missionaries of the New Tribe.  These gentlemen translated the New Testament and other Biblical texts, replacing the value by putting Christian first, or that which is <catholic, apostolic and Roman>.  It should not be forgotten that these towns were the result of the Spanish Evangelization for more than 300 years.  As a result the texts that are used in the indigenous schools favor the way of life and the North American culture.  But the true interest of the New Tribes in the region of the Amazonia is not only to spread the Word of the Bible to the Yanomamis.  Its only interest in the zone is for the rich resources and metals such as gold, titanium, etc.  But most terrible of all for the Yanomamis happened in 1968 when they were inoculated with a vaccine against the denominated Measles Edmonton B.  This abominable experiment caused the loss of lives of several thousands out of a population of 20,000 Yanomamis.  The victims were immunized with a product that caused serious collateral effects. 

The North American journalist Patrick Tierney wrote a book on this terrible case.  The title of the book is Darkness in El Dorado.  In the end it was Hugo Chavez who rectified the situation with the expulsion of the protestant missionaries of the USA who lived in the regions of the Yanomamis tribes.  For Hugo Chavez these gentlemen of the New Tribe were nothing but conduits of the industrial powers company, that’s right, wolves in sheep’s clothing.

MODERN SOCIETY – Halloween? No, Thank You

El mimetismo en España llega a veces a un grado escatológico, en especial cuando tiene por costumbre seguir cual robot toda la parafernalia que conlleva la manida e importada fiesta de Halloween.  Sin tener la más mínima noción de lo que están celebrando, miles de personas que se dicen católicos se vuelcan en una fiesta que ni le concierne ni a nivel cultural y menos religioso.  Este sería el caso de Halloween donde es imposible separar estas fiestas con los ritos satánicos y paganos de los Druidas.  Por cientos de años antes de Cristo, los celtas habitaron en lo que ahora es Francia, Alemania, Inglaterra, Escocia e Irlanda.  Los sacerdotes celtas eran conocidos como Druidas.  Es sabido que estas tribus hacían sacrificios humanos en sus satánicos rituales, aparte de emplear la magia negra para causar toda clase de mal.

Los Druidas acostumbraban a celebrar el día 31 de Octubre, con sacrificios humanos y un festival para honrar a su Dios Sol y a Samhain el señor de los muertos.  Los sacerdotes Druidas iban de casa en casa exigiendo alimentos para poder ofrendar a su Dios Samhain en el festival de la muerte.  Si se les daba se hacia un trato <treat> y se iban en paz.  Si la gente de las aldeas no daba a los Druidas el alimento que exigían, se lanzaba una maldición sobre la casa entera y según ellos, alguien de esa familia moriría ese año.  Esa era la trampa o truco <trick>.  Hoy en día la fiesta de Halloween, es decir el Festival de Samhain actualizado, es celebrada oficialmente por grupos o sectas de satanistas, ocultistas y adoradores del Diablo.

Pero esta grotesca fiesta no solo es seguida por la chiquillería que podría tener un cierto entusiasmo propio de su edad.  Es que a la celebración se han unido el adulto bobalicón, que entre lingotazos de whisky de garrafa y mascara de todo a un Euro, desfilan cual un ejércitos de Zombis por pueblos o barrios de nuestra mimética nación.  La cosa es llamar la atención.  ¡Cómo tiene que estar el panorama cultural, que tanto el comercio como buenos negociantes y la masa como carne de circo se apunta a este antiestético Aquelarre, en donde la Zafiedad se da la mano con el Esperpento!  Menos mal que aun nos queda la Tomatina, los San Fermines, y la casta política.

Sometimes, the mimicry in Spain reaches an eschatological degree, especially when people follow like robots the imported customs and traditions of Halloween with all the paraphernalia.  Without having the minimum notion of what they are celebrating, thousands of people, self proclaimed Catholics, take to the streets to celebrate a festival that does not have any bearing on their religious or cultural upbringing.  This is the case of Halloween, where it is impossible to separate these celebrations from the satanic and pagan rites of the Druids.  Hundreds of years before Christ, the Celtics inhabited a region which is now France, Germany, England, Scotland and Ireland.  The Celtic priests were known as Druids.  It is known that these tribes made human sacrifices in their satanic rituals, aside from using black magic to carry out their evil deeds.

The Druids used to celebrate their rituals on 31 of October, with human sacrifices in a festival to honor their Sun God, Samhain, the Master of the Dead.  Druid priests went from house to house demanding food as an offering to their God Samhain during the festival of the Dead.  If they were given what they asked for, this would be a <treat> and they went away peacefully.  If the people of the villages did not give the Druids the food that they demanded, a curse would be cast upon the whole house and as a consequence, somebody of that family would die that very year.  That would be the <trick>.  Nowadays the celebration of Halloween, that is to say, the modernized Festival of Samhain, is celebrated officially by groups or sects of Satanists, occultist and worshippers of the Devil.  

But this grotesque celebration is not only followed by the kids, who naturally would be enthusiastic at their age.  This celebration has now united the clans of adults, who in between their shots of whiskey and masks for a Euro, march past as armies of Zombies through the towns or districts in our mimetic nation.  All this so as capture others’ attention.   How bad must be the cultural panorama that the businesses and business people and the ridiculous masses all take part in this ugly Witches’ Sabbath, where Vulgarity goes hand in hand with Absurdity!  Thank heavens that we still have festivals such as Tomatina, San Fermin, and also the political caste.

IRAN – Time is Running Out

Después del aplastamiento inmisericorde de Libia por la NATO, las manecillas del reloj se están precipitando y cunde la borrachera eufórica de dar un certero y definitivo zarpazo a Irán.  Pues los ánimos están más que crecido y la adrenalina recorre como hormigas los militaristas cerebros de USA, Israel y Europa.  ¡Qué mejor ocasión que ahora con esta insuperable crisis económica!  La tentación de empezar una aventura militar contra Irán no es descabellada.  Últimamente la aviación de Israel ha desarrollado unos ejercicios militares en la isla de Cerdeña en Italia.  Más eso no es todo.  El ejército israelita ha podido probar con un gran éxito el lanzamiento de un misil balístico.  La prueba prevista del sistema de propulsión del cohete fue realizada en la base aérea de Palmajim al sur de Tel Aviv.  Algunos medios especializados se hacen eco de que Israel pudiera haber hecho pruebas con la novísima versión del misil tierra Jericó 3.  Este misil tendría la capacidad de poder transportar una carga nuclear.

En contrapartida el gobierno iraní llevaría meses realizando pruebas reales de lanzamientos de misiles.  Es más que posible que con la tecnología de Irán, sus misiles podrían golpear el corazón de Europa, ya fuese Milán o Paris.  Estos días estamos asistiendo a una verdadera cataratas de noticias relacionadas con un posible ataque combinado de USA, Israel y Europa contra las instalaciones nucleares de Irán.  El diario judío Yedio Ahronot abrió la caja de Pandora al poner en su portada, ¿Ha decidido ya el primer ministro Benjamín Netanyahu y el ministro de Defensa Ehud Barak el ataque militar contra las centrales nucleares de Irán?  También el diario hebreo Haaretz ha revelado que Netanyahu estaría buscando mayoría suficiente de votos a favor del ataque dentro de la cúpula militar.  

Han sido cuatro años de rumores sobre un ataque a Irán.  Ahora da la impresión de que ese fatídico día está llegando.  Claro que para nada Irán es como Iraq, Afganistán o la aniquilada Libia.  El ejército iraní es el más poderoso de la zona, debido a sus formidables arsenales balísticos de corto o largo alcance.  El próximo 8 de este mes se hará público el informe de la Organización Internacional de Energía Atómica, <OIEA.> sobre los progresos de Irán en su programa nuclear.  Ese día será más que decisivo para ver la reacción que tomara Israel.  El reloj se ha puesto en marcha.

After the brutal crushing of Libya by NATO, the second hand of the clock is counting down and there is a euphoric air in regards to the decisive and final attack to be launched upon Iran.  Spirits are high and the adrenalin flows through the blood like crawling ants in the brains of the militaristic USA, Israel and Europe.   What better occasion than now with this insurmountable economic crisis!  The temptation to launch an attack against Iran is not preposterous.  Lately the aviation of Israel has carried out military exercises in the island of Sardinia in Italy.  Apart from this, there is more.  The Israelite army has been able to prove with great success the launching of a ballistic missile.  The long anticipated test of this system of rocket propulsion was realized at the air base of Palmajim to the south of Tel Aviv.  Some expert sources have echoed the possibility that Israel could have already tested the latest version of the ground missile Jericho 3.  This missile would have the capacity to be able to carry nuclear explosives. 

On the other side, the Iranian government has been carrying out missile launching tests for months now.  It is more than possible that with the technology of Iran, their missiles could strike at the heart of Europe, be it Milan or Paris.  These days we are witnessing an avalanche of news related to a possible joint attack by the USA, Israel and Europe against the nuclear power plants of Iran.  The Jewish newspaper Yedio Ahronot has opened Pandora´s Box when they flashed the headlines, “Has Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Minister of Defense Ehud Barak decided on the military attack against the nuclear power stations of Iran?”  Also the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz has revealed that Netanyahu would be looking for sufficient votes among the military elite in favor of an attack.   There have been more than four years of rumors in relation to the attack on Iran. 

Now it gives the impression that the ill fated day is coming very soon.  Clearly Iran is nothing like Iraq, Afghanistan or the annihilated Libya.  The Iranian army is the most powerful of the region, due to its formidable ballistic arsenals of short or long ranges.  On the 8^th day of this month, the Organization the International of Atomic Energy,  <OIAE> will make public its report on the progress of Iran in its nuclear program.  On that day it will be interesting to see what kind of decisive action Israel will take.  The clock has started counting down the time.

GREECE – Zeus is Laughing

El lucido y hasta revolucionario planteamiento de un Referéndum propuesto por el primer ministro griego Papandreu ha provocado más que una conmoción en las cancillerías europeas.  Algo tan democrático y justo como esta solución de consultar al pueblo de Grecia ha hecho temblar todo el edificio virtual de la zona Euro.  Han tenido que ser los griegos después de todo, los padres fundadores de este sistema político llamado Democracia, los que irónicamente podrían hacer estallar por los aires a la caduca Europa.  Ha faltado tiempo para que, como lobos hambrientos, toda la despreciable casta política saltase a golpe de trompeta contra la yugular de Papandreu.  ¿A qué viene tanta escandalera y golpes de pechos de Ángela Merkel y Nicolás Sarkozy?  ¿Es que por narices se tienen que salvar sus tóxicos bancos a costa de un salvaje e inútil plan de austeridad?

Claro, el terror del pulpo capitalista es que esta singular idea del Referéndum fructifique y se extienda en las mentes del ciudadano común.  Después de todo el sistema capitalista tiene más miedo al pueblo que a otras cosas.  Es por esa razón que cualquier tipo de democracia directa les da pavor, ya sea Asambleas, Referéndums u otras clases de consultas populares.  De esta manera el pueblo puede cambiar su destino sin necesidad de partidos políticos domesticados o sindicatos vendidos.  Yo creo que Grecia abrió la caja de Pandora y esto supone un precedente.  Es ahora que tendríamos que aplaudir y animar a los griegos para seguir adelante con su Referéndum.  Pero eso sería algo utópico.  Los medios de difusión al servicio del Monstruo de la Usura y el Crédito nos bombardearan con terrores inimaginarios si siguiésemos el modelo griego, más pensemos de una forma racional.  

Nadie nos consultó si queríamos entrar en el Euro, y ya hemos visto los resultados.  Un alemán gana más que un español o griego.  Nuestros salarios son bajísimos, pero un kilo de tomates vale lo mismo en Berlín que Barcelona.  Equiparación de precios pero no de salarios.  ¿Qué gracioso el invento del Euro, no?  Con qué razón los ingleses, que son más listos que el hambre, no quisieron saber nada de entrar en el Euro.  El tiempo les ha dado la razón a Inglaterra.  ¿Y ahora, qué harán Obama, Merkel, Sarkozy?  ¿Piensan bombardear el Panteón con unos de sus silenciosos Drones?  ¡Cómo se estará riéndose desde el Olimpo el Dios Zeus!

The sensible and even revolutionary Referendum proposed by the Greek Prime Minister Papandreu has caused more than a commotion among the European chancelleries.  Something as democratic and just as this move to consult the people of Greece has shaken the virtual foundations of the Euro zone to the core.  Again the focus is on the Greeks.   After all, they are the founding fathers of this political system called Democracy; the very people who ironically could blow the old continent to pieces.  It wouldn’t be long before the political caste of Europe, like hungry wolves, launch an attack at the jugular of Papandreu.   What is the reason for the scandalous outrage of Angela Merkel and Nicholas Sarkozy?   Must their toxic banks be saved at all costs with a useless austerity plan?  

Clearly the fear for the capitalist monster is that this singular idea of a Referendum comes to fruition and spreads among the minds of the common citizen.  After all, the capitalist system is more fearful of the people than any other thing.  Any type of true democracy is, for this reason, a source of fear to them, be it Assemblies, Referendums or other classes of popular consultations.  In this way the people can have a say in the changes made to its destiny instead of leaving it in the hands of the political parties or partial unions.  I believe that Greece has opened the Pandora’s Box and this will serve as a precedent.  It is now up to us to applaud and encourage the Greeks to forge ahead with its Referendum.  But that would be make believe.  The media, which is at the service of the Credit Monster and the Loan Sharks, will bombard us with all kinds of imaginary terrors if we were to follow the Greek model, even if we try to think rationally. 

Nobody consulted if we wanted to be part of the Euro, and we have already seen the consequences.  A German earns more than a Greek or a Spanish citizen.  Our wages are lower, but a kilo of tomatoes is worth the same in Berlin as in Barcelona.  Similar prices but not wages.   Isn’t it a big farce the whole invention of the Euro?  It is with reason that the English, who are a money smart people, did not want to have anything to do with the Euro.  Time has shown that England was right.   So now, what will Obama, Merkel, Sarkozy do?   Will they bombard the Pantheon with of their silent Drones?   Zeus must surely be laughing his head off on top of Mount Olympus!

HISTORY – The Black Legend versus Catholic Spain

A veces el masoquismo en España supera la norma.  Un ejemplo clásico seria nuestro sentimiento de culpabilidad por haber colonizado América.  Como consecuencia de esto fue fácil que la dañina leyenda negra se incrustara en las mentes de muchos españoles.  Después de todo se trata de una visión torcida del mundo protestante y anglosajón sobre nuestra nación.  Es triste que aun se le de la razón a los que diseñaron esta bazofia.  Lo raro es que solo España tiene esta reputación.  En cambio ningún país de la órbita protestante se le cargó con este estigma.  ¿Por qué?  Solo se me ocurre una razón.  La importancia de nuestra patria en el mundo llegó a ser enorme.  Durante los siglos XVI al XVIII, la influencia de España a nivel cultural, religioso, politico y militar era universal.  Nunca hubiera existido esta leyenda si España no hubiera sido tan importante en el mundo, o si hubiese traicionado su catolicidad, como lo hicieron otros países de Europa.

La leyenda negra fue anticatólica y antiespañola, y tuvo a Inglaterra como guía de esta despreciable acción.  Ayudaron a incrementar tal patraña una legión de escritores, que volcaron sus ponzoñosos libelos en vilipendia a nuestra nación.  Pronto estas ideas se generalizaron en una Europa secularizada y petulante.  Para algunos hispanistas las raíces del odio contra España debe buscarse en documentos del siglo XVI, como la Apología de Guillermo de Orange, que pintaba a España como una nación cruel, opresora y cuyo enorme poderío estaba al servicio de la ignorancia y la superstición.  Lo más despreciable era que los cínicos agentes de la leyenda negra acusaban a España de crímenes que solo ellos cometieron.  Por supuesto sus respectivos pueblos asimilaron de una forma borreguil el fanatismo contra España, en particular el mundo anglosajón y protestante.  No solo tergiversaron la Historia Española y la grandeza de la epopeya del Descubrimiento de América, sino que al mismo tiempo silenciaron sus sórdidos sistemas coloniales de los siglos XVII al XIX.  Pues de todo, es sabido el feroz exterminio de los aborígenes de Norteamérica y el sangriento sometimiento de tantos pueblos africanos, asiáticos, y oceánicos en los procesos colonizadores realizado por Occidente.  

Allí donde estuvo la Iglesia Católica no hubo ni racismo ni exterminio de los indios.  Un magnifico ejemplo lo tenemos en el Paraguay con la loable labor de la Compañía de Jesús.  Pero si hablamos de leyenda negra aquí tengo alguna no muy conocida.  Enrique VIII en virtud de la ley de supremacía obligó a sus súbditos a convertirse al Anglicanismo.  Su reinado de terror costó casi 200,000 víctimas, casi todos católicos,

Oliver Cromwell aniquiló a los católicos de Irlanda, entre muertos o exiliados, 500,000.  En Alemania con Lutero había más que 100,000 muertos debido a su fanatismo homicida.  Pará los colonos protestantes, los indios no eran almas a las que hubieran de instruir en la fe.  Las teorías de Darwin reforzaron aun más la aniquilación de los indios en Norteamérica.  Creo que ya es hora de una vez de dejar de culpabilizarnos y de sentirse un poco orgulloso de nuestro país.  Pues si 400 millones de personas hablan español alguna cosa buena dejemos en Iberoamérica.

Columbus's discovery of America

Sometimes the masochism in Spain surpasses the norm.  A classic example can be found in our guilty conscience for the colonization of America.  As a result of this, it was natural that the harmful black legend became engraved in the psyche of many Spaniards.  After all, this represents the twisted version of the Protestants and Anglo-Saxons in relation to our nation.  It is sadder still that many subscribe to these views.  The curious thing is that only Spain possesses this reputation.  On the other hand, there is no country within the protestant orbit that has been burdened with this stigma.   So why is this so?   There is one reason that has occurred to me.  The importance of our motherland in the world had become too enormous.  From the century XVI to XVIII, the influence of Spain from a cultural, religious, political and military level was universal.  The black legend would never have existed if Spain had not been so important in the world, or if it had turned its back on Catholicism, like many other countries of Europe.  

The black legend was anti-Catholic and anti-Spanish, and it was propagated by England.  A legion of writers helped to spread this hoax; they transformed their venomous accusations into insults upon our nation.  Soon these ideas became widespread in a secular and arrogant European continent.  For some Spanish scholars the roots of hatred against Spain dates back to documents of the century XVI, like the Vindication of Guillermo de Orange, who painted a picture of Spain as a cruel nation, oppressive and whose enormous power was for the service of ignorance and superstition.  But the despicable thing was that these cynical propagators of the black legend accused Spain of the very crimes that their nations committed.  As a result the respective people of these nations, like sheep, harbored a strong fanaticism against Spain, especially the Anglo-Saxon and protestant world.  Not only did they distort Spanish History and the spectacular epic that was the Discovery of America, but that at the same time they turned a blind eye towards their squalid colonial systems during the centuries XVII to the XIX.  Above all, there was no mention of the ferocious extermination of the natives of North America and the bloody subjugation of so many African, Asian and Oceanic people by the West. 

In the regions where there was the influence of the Catholic Church, there was neither racism nor extermination of the Indians.  I would like to emphasize the example in Paraguay, where praiseworthy labor was carried out by the Company of Jesus.  When we speak of the black legend, there is a little known fact that would qualify as such.  Henry VIII, by virtue of the law of supremacy, forced his subjects to convert to Anglicanism.  His reign of terror took the lives of almost 200,000 victims, almost all of whom were Catholics.

Oliver Cromwell annihilated the Catholics of Ireland, among the dead and exiled, 500,000 in total.  In Germany with Lutero, 100,000 people died as a result of his homicidal fanaticism.  Within the protestant colonies, the Indians were not looked upon as people who could be taught the ways of the protestant faith.  The theories of Darwin served to further reinforce the destruction of the Indians in North America.  I believe that it is time that we stop putting blame and guilt on ourselves and start feeling proud our country.  If there are 400 million people who speak Spanish, it means that at least we did leave something good behind in America.
