SYRIA – Blood, Innocence and Ramadan

Ayer fue siguiendo la rutina sangrienta de estos últimos cinco meses, uno de esos días que la sangre corrió a borbotones de los cuerpos indefensos de los valerosos ciudadanos de Siria.  La cifra habla de 150 por lo menos.  Una novedad importante fue que el líder de la tribu de los Baqqara, Nawaf Al Bashir fuese arrestado.  Más de un millón de personas pertenecen a dicha tribu.  Y la mayoría viven en la provincia de Decir Al Zor, uno de los bastiones más importante de la oposición contra el detestable Al Assad.

Mientras tanto, siguiendo el guion, los llamados gobiernos  democráticos siguen con su parloteo estúpido e ingenuo, interrogándose que es lo más pragmático para sus torcidos intereses.  ¿Pensáis que de esta forma vais a parar la carnicería? Con vuestra indolencia y pasividad os haréis cómplice de estos crímenes ante la historia.

El ateo Al Assad en su locura de sangre ya no respeta ni la fiesta sagrada de los musulmanes que es el Ramadán.  Un régimen bárbaro donde ni las convicciones religiosas son tenidas en cuenta.  La sangre me hierve ante tanta impunidad.  Mientras la borrachera de sangre continua, en Medio Oriente se abre la caja de Pandora de un nuevo tablero de ajedrez.

Por ejemplo Egipto quiere recuperar su protagonismo.  Como en los viejos tiempo de Anwar El Sadat como líder del mundo árabe, el Cairo se ve otra vez como líder y protector del mundo árabe musulmán sunita contra el poder cada vez más amenazante de Irán persa musulmán chiita, la Turquía turca y el Israel judío.  Iraq con su anarquía no cuenta de momento, y Siria con una más que probable guerra civil tampoco.  Es Egipto por supuesto el país que podría ganar más influencia en este convulso momento.  Claro que como ha ocurrido en el pasado USA podría dar una patada al tablero.

El tiempo lo dirá pero no creo que se retrase mucho el acontecimiento. Por el camino veremos la sangre de una población como la Siria ser moneda de cambio en este asqueroso juego.  El Ramadán es el mes santo y de ayuno entre los musulmanes.  Es un mes de reflexión para los que son creyentes; sin embargo el impío régimen sirio ha manchado esta festividad religiosa con un nuevo baño de sangre.  Los que han cometido el sacrilegio de atentar contra la creencia y la fe del pueblo Sirio nunca tendrán perdón, no hay marcha atrás.

Yesterday, the bloody routine of the last five months continued on its path, and was one of these days when the blood of the defenseless citizens of Syria flowed like a river.  There were at least 150 casualties.  One of the important novelties was that the leader of the tribe of the Baqqara, Nawaf Al Bashir was arrested.  More than a million of people belong to this tribe.  The majority live in the province of Decir Al Zor, one of the bastions most important of the opposition against the detestable Al Asaad.

Meanwhile, following the script, the so called democratic governments carried on with their stupid and naïve dialogues, asking themselves what is the most pragmatic option for their twisted interests.  Do you think that they are going to stop the massacre in this way?  With your indolence and passivity you will become accomplices of these crimes that will go down in history.

The atheist Al Asaad, with his thirst for blood, has no respect for the sacred festival of the Muslims, which is the Ramadan.  It is a barbaric regime where the religious convictions have been ignored.  Faced with this impunity, my blood boils.  While the bloodbath continues in the Middle East, Pandora’s Box is opened, and there may be a new chess game.

For example, Egypt wants to be the protagonist once more.  Like in the olden days of Anwar El Sadat as the leader of the Arabic world, Cairo is again the leader and protector of the Muslim-Arabic world of the Sunnite against the ever-growing power and threat of the Persian Iran of the Shiite, and that of resurgent Turkish Turkey, and the Jewish Israel.  Iraq with its anarchy does not play a big role at the moment and neither does Syria with its probable civil war.  It is without doubt Egypt the country that would gain more influence during these convulsive times.  Of course, let’s not forget USA, who in the past had intervened in this chess game.

Time will tell but I do not believe that the event will be very far off.  As part of the game, we will see the blood of the population of Syria used as legal tender in this disgusting game.  Ramadan is the holy month and one for fasting for the Muslims.  It is the month for reflection for the faithful; regardless the impious Syrian regime had stained this religious festival with a bloodbath.  Those who have committed this sacrilege against the faith and belief of the Syrian people will never be forgiven; there will be no going back.

LITERATURE – Otto Weininger: The Last Misogynist

Hace tres años visite la bellísima ciudad de Buenos Aires.  Un día paseando cerca de la sede del gobierno llamada La Casa Rosada, bonita definición por cierto, descubrí una de las librerías más importante de la ciudad.  En aquella librería fue donde descubrí un libro insólito y escandaloso al mismo tiempo.  El libro se titulaba Sexo y Carácter, y me costo la ridícula suma de 25 pesos.  Nunca una inversión tan modesta me dio tantas ganancias para mi nutrición cultural.  Me adentre en su enmarañada  y psicológica lectura durante dos largas y exhausta semanas.  Cuando termine con sus casi 600 páginas quede más que petrificado, de cómo un joven de 20 ano en la convulsa Viena de principio de siglo pudo elaborar y escribir este libro maldito hasta hoy en día.

Sexo y Carácter es una obra que no conoce el término medio, es terriblemente transgresora, rompiendo al mismo tiempo los viejos y apolillados moldes de la filosofía de comienzo del siglo 20.  Hoy  en los círculos intelectuales todo el mundo habla de Heidegger como el filósofo del nazismo.  Más sobre Weininger siempre se ha edificado un sarcófago de silencio.  ¿Por que esta discriminación  a este personaje?  Algunos dirán era un Misógamo y encima Judío.  Lo más irritante es que todos hablan de la Misogamia de Weininger.  Más pocos han leído su libro en profundidad.

Eso si se le ha etiquetado como un apestado y se le ha arrojado al cementerio del olvido.  Mientras tanto legiones de mediocres gozan de una audiencia insólita entre el bostezo y la mediocridad de sus tediosos escritos.  Reconozco que no todo el mundo puede digerir las tesis de Weininger.  No es desde luego para almas pusilánimes o espíritus melifluos.  Frente a un personaje de la talla de Weininger no se puede ser neutral, o se siente una total repugnancia por sus ideas o pena o admiración.  No es fácil después de leer su libro sentirse indiferente.

Les dejo con algunos de sus pensamientos, “El hombre cuando niño, no siente la necesidad de la madurez sexual, la mujer desde los primeros anos.  La sexualidad más vulgar considera a la mujer como un aparato para el onanismo.  La mujer no es microcosmos, no fue hecha a la imagen de Dios.  La mujer no puede ser mala porque es únicamente amoral y vulgar.  La continuidad de la especie no puede constituir un deber moral.  No se pide su consentimiento al ser que va a venir al mundo.  Toda mujer tiende al matrimonio, es decir a la maternidad, a menos que sea una mujer emancipada, una lesbiana o simplemente, una reprimida alienada en su castidad.  El sacrosanto núcleo central del matrimonio es el coito, al que la mujer se aferra vivamente.”

Para mí lo más ridículo es cuando afirma en la pagina 534 que Wagner es el más grande hombre después de Cristo.  Conclusión: Otto Weininger fue un escritor delirante con una capa de nihilismo que tuvo la decencia de suicidarse como epitafio a su inimitable libro.

Three years ago I visited the beautiful city of Buenos Aires.  One day when I was wandering around the area of the government building known as Pink House, beautiful definition of course, that I discovered one of the most important bookshops of the city.  In this bookshop, I discovered a scandalous and unusual book.  This book is titled Sex and Character and it cost me only 25 pesos.  Never has such a modest investment given me so much in terms of cultural nutrition.  I found myself entwined in his twisted and psychological discourses during two long and exhausting weeks.  When I finished reading the 600 pages I felt petrified, at how a young man of just 20 years old during the convulsive era of Vienna during the turn of the century, could elaborate and write this cursed book, even up till today.

Sex and Character is a work that does not know the term moderation, it is terribly transgressor, breaking the antiquated mold of the philosophy of the olden days, during the time of the beginning of the 20^th century.  Today among the circle of intellectuals everyone talks about Heidegger as the philosopher of Nazism.  But in the case of Weininger a sarcophagus of silence has been raised.  Why is there this discrimination against this person?  Some would say that he was a misogynist and a Jew.  The most irritating is that everyone talks about the misogynism of Weininger but few have read his book in detail.

Yes, he has been catalogued as a pest and he has been thrown in the cemetery of obscurity.  At the same time legions of mediocre writers enjoy the attention of a surprising audience, between yawns and mediocrity of their tedious works.  I recognize that not everyone in the world can digest the thesis of Weininger.  Definitely not the self-righteous and honeyed-flavoured souls.  Before a person of this stature like Weininger, we cannot be neutral, either one feels repugnance for his ideas or pain or admiration.  It is not easy to feel indifferent after reading this book.

I leave you with some of these thoughts, “A man, when he is still a child does not have the necessity for sexual maturity, a woman on the other hand already needs that from her first years.  The sexuality that is most vulgar relates to the woman as an apparatus for masturbation.  A woman is not microcosm; she was not created in the image of God.  A woman cannot be bad because she is simply immoral and vulgar.  The continuity of this specie cannot construct a moral duty.  Their consent cannot be expected for one to come into being and to come into this earth.  All women tend to seek matrimony, that is maternity, unless she is emancipated, lesbian or simply alienated and repressed within her chastity.  The central sacrosanct nucleus of matrimony is the coitus, to which a woman will grasp at with fervor.”

For me the most ridiculous is when he affirmed on page 534 that Wagner is the greatest man after Christ.  Conclusion: Otto Weininger was a writer who was delirious beneath a cape of nihilism, that he had the decency to commit suicide as an epitaph for this inimitable book.

HISTORY – Indonesia: 500,000 People Massacred

Siempre tendemos a ver y analizar las grandes matanzas perpetrada por la ideología comunista.  Más si somos consecuentes e imparciales veremos que algunas veces las victimas han sido personas que han abrazado la causa comunista.  Para ilustrarlo nada mejor que recordar lo que aconteció el mes de Octubre de 1965 en Indonesia.  Ese año fue una fecha fatídica en la historia de ese país.  Los militares indonesios con la ayuda logística de la CIA dieron un sangriento golpe de estado que acabo con el gobierno de Ahmed Sukarno.  Jamás se sabrá cuantas personas murieron en el golpe de estado perpetrado por el general Suharto en 1965 y 1966.

En 1966 el Departamento de Asuntos Exteriores de USA dio la cifra de 300,000 personas muertas.  A mediado de los años 70, el  gobierno de Indonesia hablo de 500,000 muertos.  Para Amnistía Internacional sin embargo la cifra pudo ronda los 600,000 muertos.  En 1990 un pescador del norte de Sumatra contó, “Por seis meses nadie comió pescado del rio porque se encontraban dedos dentro de los peces.”

La matanza llego a provoca un gran problema de salud en la isla de Java Oriental y en el norte de Sumatra.  Los ríos estaban llenos de miles de cadáveres en estado de putrefacción flotando en el rio.  El objetivo del golpe fue el gobierno de coalición encabezado por Sukarno, en el cual el Partido Comunista de Indonesia desempeñaba un importante papel.  En aquella época el Partido Comunista Indonesio era el más grande y poderoso del mundo, después de China y Rusia.  Contaba con 3 millones de simpatizantes.  Tenía un brazo armado y mucha influencia económica.  Sus estrechos lazos con Moscú y Beijín preocupaban mucho a USA.

La matanza fue organizada por el ejército y con la ayuda de las milicias anticomunista Banser.  Por otra parte los clérigos islámicos tuvieron gran parte de responsabilidad en la masacre, a través de Nahdlatul Ulama, la congregación musulmana más importante de Indonesia.  Cientos de personas fueron decapitada y sus cabezas clavada en estaca de madera.  Esta terrible masacre nunca fue recreada por la prensa mundial de la época.  En víspera del golpe el presidente Lyndon Johnson dijo, “Mucho está en juego.  La mayoría de los países de Asia no podrán, por si solo, oponer resistencia al poderío y grandes ambiciones del comunismo asiático.  El poder de USA es un escudo sumamente necesario.”

En 1965, USA había estrenado a 4,000 militares indonesios.  La CIA tenía redes de agentes y soplones en los sindicatos comunistas, donde el PKI tenía una gran implantación.  Las grandes compañías petrolíferas de USA y Japón dieron ayuda a Pertamina, la compañía petrolera del ejército indonesio, y eso fortaleció a las fuerzas militares.  A su vez el ejercito fomento una histeria anticomunista que alentó a la mayoría musulmana a cometer horribles matanzas.

Mi opinión es que el PKI  no fue lo suficientemente audaz para armar a las masas, tenían el poder pero no lo utilizaron.  Ese error de estrategia lo pagaron con un baño de sangre.  Lo mismo que Salvador Allende en Chile 8 años más tarde.  A veces les tienen mas miedo a las masas revolucionarias que a la derecha mas represiva.

We always tend to view and analyse the worst massacres perpetrated by the communist ideology.  However if we are coherent and impartial we will see that some of the victims have been the people who have embraced the communist cause.  To illustrate this, there is no better way than to remember the events that took place in Indonesia in October of 1965.  This year was a very ill-fated time in the history of this country.  The Indonesian military with the logistic assistance of the CIA instigated a coup de tete which terminated the government of Ahmed Sukarno.  It has never been known exactly how many people died in the coup perpetrated by the General Suharto in 1965 and 1966.

In 1966, the Department of Foreign Affairs of USA gave the statistic of 300,000 dead.  During the middle of the 1970s, the Indonesian government spoke of 500,000 dead.  For Amnesty International the number would more likely be in the region of 600,000 dead.  In 1990 a fisherman in Northern Sumatra related the fact that for six months no one ate the fish from the river because they found fingers inside the fish.

The massacre even created bog health issues on the island of Java Oriental and in the north of Sumatra.  The rivers were filled with thousands of corpses in decomposition, floating in the river.  The objective of the coup was the government of the coalition headed by Sukarno, in which the Communist Party of Indonesia played an important part.  In this era the Indonesian Communist Party was the biggest and most powerful in the world after China and Russia.  They had around 3 million supporters.  They had an armed wing and lots of economic influence.  Its strong ties with Moscow and Beijing were a big worry for USA.

The massacre was organised by the army with the help of the militia of the anticommunist Banser.  On the other hand the Islamic clergies had a big part of the responsibility in the massacre, through the influence of Nahdlatul Ulama, the Muslim congregation that was the most important in Indonesia.  Hundreds of people were decapitated and their heads put on wooden stakes.  This terrible massacre was never related in the global newspapers during this time.  During the eve of the coup the President Lyndon Johnson said, “A lot lies in the balance.  The majority of the Asian countries would not be able, by themselves, oppose and resist the power and the huge ambitions of the Asian communism.  The power of USA is a shield that is totally necessary.”  

In 1965, USA had mobilised 4,000 Indonesian military personnel.  The CIA had a network of agents and spies in the communist syndicates, where the PKI was well-established.  The big petroleum companies of USA and Japan gave their assistance to Pertamina, the petrol company of the Indonesian army, and this fortified the military forces.  At the same time, the army fomented a hysteria anticommunist that instigated the Muslim majority to commit horrible massacres.

My opinion is that PKI was no audacious enough to arm its masses; it had the power but did not utilize it.  This strategic error had to be paid by a bloodbath.  The same occurred with Salvador Allende in Chile eight years later.  Sometimes more fear is harboured against the revolutionary masses than the most repressive right wing factions.

LITERATURE – Louis Ferdinand Celine: Prose and Nihilism

Hoy en la políticamente correcta y chauvinista Francia, se les niega un modesto homenaje a unos de sus más grandes escritores de la última centuria.  Estamos hablando de Celine.  De los pocos libros que me han impactado en esta vida y a su vez me han enseñado algo sobre la condición humana, sin duda alguna este es el terrible libro de Celine, Viaje Al Fin De La Noche.  Es el único que lo ha conseguido.  Diría que es como una Biblia en la que me sumerjo como un naufrago.  Lo que siempre me gusto de Celine fue su prosa nihilista y amarga.  Llena de un salvaje lirismo, un genio del estilo literario, inventor de un lenguaje inimitable en estos mediocres días.  El estilo de Celine esta subordinado a su percepción del mundo.  A través de este estilo ágil que parece descuidado, incorrecto, apasionado, vivo, brota y palpita la real riqueza de la cultura francesa.

Celine era sin duda, un escritor realista debido a su estilo delirante y desmitificador de la sociedad que le toco vivir.  Una alma absoluta de destrucción selectiva de todo lo importado y falso que hay en la vida.  Las reflexiones sobre la condición humana son amargas en todas sus obras, en especial cuando llega a escribir esto, “Los hombres se aferran a sus cochinos recuerdos, a todas sus degracias, y no se les puede sacar de ahí.  Con eso ocupan el alma, se vengan de la injusticia de su presente revolviendo en su interior la mierda del porvenir.”  Sin duda su prosa estaba llena de un discurso pesimista, frenéticamente atroz.  Todo en sus escritos destilaba una melancolía agonizante.  Pues su propósito era sumergir al lector en la más profunda desolación.

Llego a escribir en su panfleto antisemita, “Los judíos, estériles, vanidosos, devastadores, monstruosamente megalomaniacos, puercos, consolidan ahora bajo el mismo estandarte, su conquista del mundo, el aplastamiento monstruoso, envilecimiento, aniquilamiento sistemático y total de nuestras emociones más naturales, de todos nuestros artes esenciales, instintivos, música, pintura, poesía, teatro.  Reemplazan la emoción aria por el tambor de esclavos negros.”  Para mí sencillamente un lenguaje estremecedor.  Les dejo  con este pasaje doloroso, “Rencorosos, dóciles, violados, robados, con las tripas fuera y siempre jodido. Hemos nacidos fieles y así morimos.”  El don literario de Celine no le exime por supuesto de su enloquecido y nauseabundo antisemitismo, mas su prosa, quedara para la posteridad.

Today in the politically correct and chauvinistic France, even a modest homage has been denied to one of its greatest writers in the last century.  We are talking about Celine.  Of the few books that have impacted this life and at the same time teaching me something about the human condition, without a doubt it has been the terrible book of Celine, Journey to the End of Night.  It is the only thing that he has achieved.  I would say that it is a Bible in which I have submerged myself like a shipwrecked person.  What I have always liked about Celine is his nihilistic and bitter prose.  It is filled with savage lyricism, a genius of literary style, inventor of an inimitable language during these mediocre days.  The style of Celine has been subordinated to his world view.  Through this agile style which seems careless, incorrect, passionate, lively, the real richness of French culture has sprouted and throbbed with life.

Celine was without doubt a realistic writer due to his delirious and demystifying style of the society in which he was living.  An absolute soul of selective destruction of everything that is imported and false that exists in life.  The reflections about the human condition are bitter in all of his works, especially when he wrote the following, “Men hold on to their filthy memories, all their misfortunes, and they have no way of extracting them from there.  With these they fill their souls; they seek vengeance against injustice of their present moment while the shit of the future turns in their stomachs.”  Without doubt his prose was filled with a pessimistic discourse, frenetically atrocious.  All of his works ooze with an agonizing melancholy.  Well his purpose was to submerge his reader in the most profound desolation.

He had also written in his anti-Semitic pamphlet, “The Jews, sterile, vain, devastating, monstrously megalomaniac, swine, consolidate now under their same banner, their world conquest, the monstrous crushing, the degradation, systematic and total annihilation of all our emotions that are most natural, of all our essential arts, instincts, music, painting, poetry, theatre.   They substitute the Aryan emotions with the drums of the Black slaves.”  For me, these are chilling words.  I will leave you with a painful passage, “Bitter, docile, violated, robbed, with the stomach turned inside out and always damned.  We were born faithful and this is how we will die.”  The literary talent of Celine, of course, does not absolve him of his crazy and nauseating anti-Semitism, on the contrary his prose will live on in posterity.

MODERN SOCIETY – Was Thomas R Malthus Right or Wrong?

Este año 2011 los habitantes de la Tierra llegaremos a la preocupante cifra de 7,000 millones de personas, y desde luego que se empieza a notar no solo en China o India.  En España rozamos los 48 millones.  Esta masificación hace que nuestra vida sea cada día más impersonal.  ¡Que distinto era todo 60 años atrás!  Cuando ciudades con 5 millones de habitantes se podían contar con los dedos de una mano.  Más hoy alrededor de 20 ciudades sobrepasan los 10 millones de habitantes.  Algunos estudios han calculado que en el año 1800 la población de la Tierra era de 1,200 millones de habitantes, lo que demuestra que en 210 años hemos crecido la brutal cifra de 5,800 millones de personas, pavorosa realidad sin duda alguna.  India tenia en 1966, 500 millones de habitantes.  Hoy supera los 1,200millones, y para el 2050 serán 1,600 millones.  Posiblemente en 2030 India superara a China en población, a pesar de programas de esterilización que están aplicando las autoridades a las mujeres hindús.

Mas ahora se ofrece la vasectomía rápida a los varones hindús con anestesia local y un pago de 25 dólares como incentivo, que irónicamente es lo que gana un obrero hindú a la semana.  Hace 40,000 millones de años atrás la Tierra tenia solamente 1 millón de habitante.  Fue en esa emblemática fecha cuando nuestros descendientes el Homo Sapien se convirtieron en los primeros pobladores humanos de Australia.  Desde entonces hemos seguido multiplicándonos como conejos y perdonen la comparación.

A mediado del siglo 20, en 1950, había sobre la Tierra unos 2,500 millones de habitantes.  En 1960 alcanzamos los 3,000 millones.  Y en solo 15 años, allá por 1975, llegamos a los 4,000 millones.  A fines de la década de 1980 llegamos a los 5,000 millones.  Y  despedimos el siglo 20 con 6,000 millones de habitantes.  Solo han transcurrido 11 años de esa fecha.  Y en ese cortísimo plazo hemos logrado sumar otros 1,000 millones de habitantes.

¡Increíble!  Nos llevó 35,000 años alcanzar los primeros 1,000 millones de habitantes.  Y en solo 200 años hemos multiplicado esa cantidad por siete.  Según los datos recogidos por la Oficina del Censo de USA, cada día nacen unas 364,000 personas.  O sea 253 personas cada segundo. Lo mas angustioso es que estas sobrecogedoras cifras no serán frenada ni con guerras o epidemias, pues a pesar de nuestra irracional tendencia a machacarnos los unos a los otros en estériles contiendas.

Las estadísticas nos dicen que en 1,000 años solo hemos sido capaces de provocar 150 millones de muertes a través de las guerras.  ¿Cual será entonces la solución?  Llevara razón Malthus, él pensaba que la población esta necesariamente limitada por los medios de subsistencias.  También afirmaba que allí donde aumentan los medios de subsistencias, aumentara la población invariablemente, a meno que se lo impida obstáculos poderosos y evidentes.  Para mi después de leer la obra principal de Thomas R Malthus, Ensayo Sobre el Principio de la Población, creo  que su visión del mundo era totalmente despiadada.  En particular cuando dice que la miseria es una ley natural e inamovible contra la cual es inútil luchar.  Aunque tiene algo de razón en esta frase, la población, sin restricción, se incrementa en proporción geométrica.  La subsistencia solo se incrementa en proporción aritmética.

La verdad es que no podemos minimizar el gravísimo problema de la superpoblación en nuestro planeta.  En mi caso puedo sentirme un ser privilegiado al tener la inmensa suerte de estar viviendo en New Zealand, donde solamente vivimos 4 millones de personas en 273,000 km cuadrados.  Me dan escalofrió al pensar que en Bangladesh viven 168 millones de habitantes en tan solo 147,000 km cuadrados.  Como siempre la solución será dolorosa.

This year 2011 the habitants of the planet earth will reach the worrying number of 7,000 million of people, and surely this has been noted not only in China or India.  In Spain we are nearing 48 million people.  This massification makes our lives all the more impersonal.  How different it was back in the 1960s!  Cities with more than 5 million habitants were a rarity.  In addition today there are around 20 cities with more than 10 million of habitants.  Some studies have calculated that in the year 1800 the population of the planet will be 1,200 million of habitants, which shows that in 210 years we have grown by a brutal 5,800 million of people, without doubt a jaw-dropping statistic.  India has 500 million of habitants back in 1966.  Today there are more than 1,200 million and in 2050 there will be 1,600 million.  Possibly in 2030 India will exceed China in population, despite the programmes of sterilization that the authorities are applying to the Hindu women.

The statistics tells us that in 1,000 we were only able to provoke the deaths of 150 million through wars.  What then could be the solution?  Malthus was right when he said that the population needs to be contained or me, after reading the principal work of Thomas R Malthus, An Essay on the Principle of Population, I believe that his vision of the world was totally cruel.  In particular when he said that human misery is a natural and unchanging law, against which it would be useless to fight.  Even though he is right in a certain sense, the population will grow without restriction in a geometrical manner.  Subsistence will however increase in an arithmetic proportion.   

The truth is that we cannot minimise the grave problem of the super population on our planet.  In my case I feel very privileged and lucky to be able to live in New Zealand, where there are only 4 million of people over 273,000 sq km.  It gives me chills just to think that there are 168 million habitants in Bangladesh which extends over an area of 147,000 sq km.  As always the solution will be painful.  

USA – The New Slavery

Algunos organismos de derechos humanos se están haciendo eco de una nueva modalidad de explotación inhumana en USA, donde se da la cifra de dos millones de presos en sus cárceles, en su inmensa mayoría negros e hispanos, que estarían trabajando para algunos sectores industriales por unos miserables centavos.  Para los magnates que han invertido en la industria de las cárceles, la rentabilidad se estaría convirtiendo en una mina de oro.  Allí no hay huelga, no necesitan pagar seguro de desempleo, vacaciones.  Los prisioneros trabajan jornada completa, se les paga 25 centavos por horas trabajada, y si lo rechazan se le encierra en celdas de aislamiento.

De acuerdo al California Prison Focus, ninguna otra sociedad en la historia humana ha encarcelado a tanto de sus propio ciudadanos.  Las cifras demostrarían que USA tiene mas presos en sus cárceles que China, que tiene 1.5 millón, claro que China tiene cinco veces más población que USA.  En 1972 la población carcelaria era de 300,000 presos.  La contratación privada de presos para trabajar estaría fomentando un incentivo para encarcelar a más gente.

Las prisiones dependen de estos ingresos y lo mas repugnante es que el complejo de Industria de Prisiones es una de de mayor crecimiento en USA.  Sus inversiones cotizan en Wall Street. Esta industria multimillonaria tiene su propia convenciones, websites, catálogos para hacer pedidos por correo y por internet.  De acuerdo al Left Business Observer la industria federal de prisiones produce el 100 por ciento de todos los cascos militares, porta munición, chalecos blindados, tarjetas de identificación, camisas, pantalones, cantimploras.

Además de material de guerra, los trabajadores producen el 93 por ciento de la pintura y pinceles, muebles de oficinas, partes de aviones, material médico.  Lo mas surrealista la cria de perros para ciego se realizan en algunas prisiones.  Leyendo esto cierro los ojos y te puedes sumergir en un campo de concentración de la Alemania nazi.  Después de todo el trabajo de preso en USA se remonta al a esclavitud imperante antes de su Guerra Civil,

Por lo menos 37 estados han legalizado la contratación del trabajo de prisioneros a corporaciones privadas que monta sus negocios dentro de las prisiones estatales.  En la lista de las empresas clientes están la flor y nata de las corporaciones de USA.  Tenemos a IBM, Boeing, Motorola, Microsoft, Wireless, Dell, Revlon, Pierre Cardin. Y muchas otra más.

Todas estas compañías están encantadas por el Boom económico generado por el trabajo de los presos, por supuesto a 20 centavos la hora han encontrado nunca mejor dicho El Dorado. Solamente entre 1980 y 1994, las ganancias generadas ascendieron de 392 millones de dólares a 1,131 millones.  El representante del estado de Oregón Kevin Mannix exhorto hace poco a la firma NIKE para que rebaje su producción en Indonesia a su estado natal, indicando a los fabricantes de calzados que no habran costo de transporte.  Les ofrecen un trabajo competitivo de la prisión aquí.

Conclusión, es más rentable y atractiva que la producción se quede en USA que en países del Tercer Mundo.  Una vez mas la privatización arruinando con su codicia al todo el mundo. ¿Cuando despertaran la Ira contenida y a su vez anulada de las mentes Americanas?  Todo llegara.  A veces lamento la caída del Muro de Berlín, ya no tenemos referencias, ideológicamente quedemos huérfanos.

Some organisations for human rights are making waves about a new kind of human exploitation in USA, where there are a total of 2 million prisoners in all its prisons, the majority of which are blacks and Hispanics, who are working for some secret industrial companies for a few miserable cents.  For the magnates who have invested in the industry of the prisons, the high yields are making this a new gold mine.  There are no strikes; there is no need for insurance, vacation pay.  The prisoners work full time and they are paid 25 cents for each hour worked, and if they refuse to work they will be locked up in isolation cells.

According to the California Prison Focus, there are no other societies in human history that had locked up so many of its own citizens.  The statistics demonstrate that USA has more prisoners in its jails than China, where there are 1.5 million, but of course China has five times more population than USA.  In 1972, the population in the prisons was 300,000.  The private contracting of prisoners for work is already encouraging that more people be locked away.

The prisons depend on this income and the most repugnant is that the Industry of Prisons is one of the sectors with the highest growth in USA.  Its investments are quoted on Wall Street.  This multi million industry has its own conventions, websites, catalogues to place orders by mail or via internet.  According to the Left Business Observer, the federal industry of prisons produces 100% of all the military helmets, ammunition case, bullet proof vests, identification cards, shirts, pants, water bottles.

Apart from war products, the workers produce 93% of the paint and paintbrushes, office furniture, airplane parts, medical materials.  The most surreal is that the training of dogs for the blind has been entrusted to some prisoners.  Reading this, I close my eyes and you can submerge yourself in a concentration camp during Nazi Germany.  After all the labour of the prisoners in USA is a new form of imperial slavery before its Civil War.

At least 37 states have legalised the contracting of prisoner labour to private corporations that have installed its business within the state prisons.  In this list of the companies who are clients is the cream of the crop of the corporations in USA.  We have IBM, Boeing, Motorola, Microsoft, Wireless, Dell, Revlon, Pierre Cardin.  And many more.

All these companies are delighted for the economic Boom generated by the labour of the prisoners; of course at 20 cents per hour, it is akin to finding their El Dorado.  Only between 1980 and 1994 did the profits generated ascended from 392 million of dollars to 1,131 million.  The representative of the state of Oregon Kevin Mannix exhorted, not long ago, that the firm Nike reduce its production in Indonesia to move back to its native state, indicating to the footwear company that there will be no transport costs.  They offered them a more competitive labour force here in the prisons.

Conclusion, it is more feasible and attractive that the production stays in USA tan in the countries in the Third World.  Once more the privatization has ruining the world with it avarice.  When will the Rage that has been contained and nullified in the minds of the Americans be awakened?  It will all arrive in good time.  Sometimes I lament the fall of the Berlin Wall, now we have no references, ideologically we have become orphans.

RELIGION - Lutero and Calvino: The Same Darkness

Recientemente he vuelto a leer la magistral obra del emérito escritor católico, Don Marcelino Menéndez Pelayo, Historia de los Heterodoxos Españoles, donde daba un concienzudo repaso a los seguidores de Lutero y Calvino en España.  Tras su lectura, mi opinión sobre estos dos cismáticos personajes no es de admiración por supuesto.  De siempre me resultaron ambiguas y extrañas sus delirantes doctrinas.  Reflejada en Lutero en sus 95 Tesis, para Lutero todo se atribuye a la fe, nada a las obras.  Todo es merito de Jesucristo, el hombre nada puede hacer, mientras para el Catolicismo la regeneración es obra divina y humana a la vez.

Lutero tuvo grandes enfrentamientos teológicos con Calvino.  Lutero afirmaba que Dios es autor del pecado. Calvino creyó siempre lo contrario.  Lutero no fue una persona con ideas progresistas y al favor del pueblo.  La reforma triunfo debido al apoyo de la nobleza alemana de la época que le interesaba controlar este movimiento religioso.  Los príncipes protestantes asesinaron a miles de campesinos que luchaban contra las desigualdades sociales de la época.  Sus crímenes fueron apoyados y alentado por Lutero.

El dijo, “Quien pueda ha de abatir, degollar o apuñalar al campesino rebelde, en publico o en privado, pues nada es mas venenoso y nocivo que un rebelde.  Ha de matarlo igual que hay que matar a un perro rabioso.”  Mas Lutero tenia una faceta que siempre se ha tratado de ocultar.  Esta era su fanático y visceral antisemitismo, que quedo reflejado en un pequeño librito titulado Sobre Los Judíos Y Sus Mentiras, escrito  en 1543, en donde llega a escribir salvajemente, que deberían quemarse sus Sinagogas, destruir sus libros de oración, prohibir predicar a sus rabinos, aplastar y destruir sus casas.

Dijo de los judíos, “Sus alientos apestan por el oro y la plata de los infieles, porque no hay gente sobre la tierra que sea, haya sido o será, mas avara que ellos.  Entonces sepan, mis queridos cristianos, que después del diablo, no hay nada mas agrio, mas ponzoñoso, mas vehemente y enemigo que un verdadero judío que realmente desea ser judío.”  Estas palabras pudieran haber sido dicha por Joseph Goebbels por ejemplo en pleno apogeo del nazismo.  Mas la ironía es que fue dicha 400 años antes y nada menos que por Martin Lutero, el gran reformador protestante del siglo XVI, el que rompió la Iglesia Católica y el precursor de tantas calamidades y estériles guerras religiosa contra la Católica España.

Sobre Calvino poco se puede decir que no dijera el gran Thomas Jefferson, quien dijo, “Calvino es ateo, cosa que yo nunca seré.  Pues su religión era diabólica.  Si algún hombre ha rendido culto a un Dios falso, ese hombre fue el.”  Según Calvino, el influjo del Espiritu Santo supone la elección a priori que Dios hizo de los hombres, unos para ser salvado y otros para la eterna condenación.  A los predestinados a la vida eterna los auxilia con medios externos e internos. Quien no tiene los externos, tampoco tiene los internos y esta predestinado a la condenación.

Dicho de otro modo, las riquezas materiales son signo de elección divina. El núcleo duro de la Teología Calvinista se basa en la imputación de todos los actos del género humano a su Creador, siendo Él, en primera y ultima instancia, quien es la fuente, lo mismo del criminal que de la víctima.  A la postre Dios es el autor de todos los crímenes y virtudes de los Actores de la Historia Universal.  Conclusión el fanatismo una vez mas impregna todo lo que concierne a la religión.  Aun asin no se ha encontrado nada para substituir las aflicciones del alma.

Recently I have reread the majestic work of the eminent Catholic writer, Don Marcelino Menéndez Pelayo, History of the Heterodoxical Spanish, where he conscientiously criticised the followers of Lutero and Calvino in Spain.  After reading his work, my opinion regarding these two cysmatic persons is of course not one of admiration.  As always their delirious doctrines seem ambiguous and strange.  Reflected in the 95 Thesis of Lutero, to him everything is attributed to faith, and not to the effort.  Everything is to the merit of Jesus Christ, where man cannot accomplish anything, while for Catholicism the regeneration is divine work and humane at the same time.

Lutero had big confrontations in terms of theology with Calvino.  Lutero affirmed that God is the author of sin.  Calvino believed the contrary.  Lutero was not a person with progressive ideas and in favour of the people.  The reform was successful due to the support from the German nobility of the era, who were interested in controlling this religious movement.  The Protestant princes assassinated thousands of farmers who struggled against the inequality in society during that era.  Their crimes were supported and fueled by Lutero.

He said, “Whoever can, should defeat, slit the throats or stab at the rebel farmer in public or in private, as nothing can be more venomous and harmful than a rebel.  He has to be killed just like a dog with rabies.”  In addition Lutero had a facet that he had always tried to hide.  That was the fact that he was a fanatic and visceral anti-Semitic, which was reflected in the little book titled About the Jews and their Lies, written in 1543, where he savagely wrote that the synagogues should be burnt, their prayer books to be destroyed, their rabbis to be prohibited from preaching, their homes to be crushed and destroyed.

He said of the Jews, “Their breath reeks of gold and silver of the heathen, because there does not exist another people on this earth who are, have been or will be more miserly than them.  So let it be known, my dear Christians, that after the Devil, there is nothing more sour, scheming, more vehement and more of a foe than a true Jew who really desires to be a Jew.”  These words could have been spoken by Joseph Goebbels for example, right during the height of Nazism.  In addition the irony was that this was 400 years ago and written by the very Martin Lutero, the great reformer Protestant of 16^th century, he who had broken down the Catholic Church and the precursor of so many calamities and futile religious wars against Catholic Spain.

In regards to Calvino, there is little to add to that the great Thomas Jefferson had said, “Calvino is atheist, which is something that I will never be.  His religion is diabolical.  If there were a man who had worshipped a false God, he would be the man.”  According to Calvino, the influx of the Holy Spirit is the basis there God had made his selection a priori of mankind, some to be saved while others to be eternally condemned.  For those who are predestined to eternal life, they will be assisted externally and internally.  Those who do not have the external help, nor will they have internal help, and they will be predestined to condemnation.

Expressed in another way, the material riches are a sign of divine selection.  The hard nucleus of Calvinistic Theology is based upon the imputation of all the acts of humankind towards its Creator, being He, who in first and last instances, He who is the source, the same as the criminal as the victim.  As a final note, God is the author of all the crimes and virtues of the Actors of the Universal History.  Conclusion, fanatism once more infiltrates all that concerns the religions.  Even then we have yet to find something to the substitute the afflictions of the soul.

SPAIN - Banana Republic

The costly AVE

Estos días la prensa nos deleita con la surrealista noticia digna de la revista humorística La Codorniz, de que Renfe ha suspendido la línea del AVE que cubría la ruta Toledo – Albacete, con parada en Cuenca.  Muchos con gran pasmo se preguntaran que diablo ha pasado si esta línea fue inaugurada a bombo y platillo por el ínclito José Blanco, Ministro de Fomento y otros preboste del partido socialista español hace solamente seis meses.  La respuesta es que no es viable debido a que solo es utilizada por nueve pasajeros.  Yo desde aquí propongo la medalla al merito civil para estos valientes ciudadanos.  Ni el mejor tándem Berlanga y Azcona hubieran mejorado este esperpento.

¿Ustedes han oído que alguien haya dimitido ante semejante chapuza?  Yo no.  ¿Alguien pidió responsabilidad?  Pues tampoco.  España como un nuevo rico se ha embarcado durante estos años en una faraónica modernización de su s líneas férreas.  Las comunidades autonómicas cual pequeños reinos de taifas han querido tener este tren sin impórtale el  costo que esto conlleva.  Y vaya que ha salido caro el juguete.  Ciñéndonos a las cifras este fiasco de Toledo - Albacete le ha costado al españolito de a pie la friolera de 3,500 millones de Euros.

Eso sí, el causante de este megalómano despilfarro tiene nombre y apellido.  Se trata del jesuítico José Bono. Y no contento con que el AVE, se empeño que Ciudad Real tuviera un Aeropuerto digno de Castilla la Mancha, dicho y hecho se construyo el dichoso Aeropuerto. Más al cabo de unos años, otro estruendoso fracaso, ni aviones ni pasajeros.  Solo dos vuelos comerciales al dia uno por la mañana que va y viene de Barcelona.  Y otro que hace lo propio desde Paris.

Ahora se habla de la joya de la corona, El AVE Madrid - Valencia, con un coste de 6,500 millones de Euros.  Algunos estudios dicen que será deficitaria su construcción, pues para ser rentable se necesitan de 5 a 9 millones de pasajeros al año.  Mas los cálculos mas optimistas hablan de 4 millones.  No pasa nada, el déficit se cargara al sufrido y borreguil pasajero.  Faltaria más con el prestigio que da tener un tren de estas características.

Señores del gobierno hay países más rico que España.  Por ejemplo, Noruega y por supuesto nunca se ha planteado tener un AVE aun nadando en petróleo.  Claro como nórdicos son pragmáticos y la seriedad en el control del gasto publico es la espina dorsal de su sistema democrático.  Lo lógico es que una línea AVE es para distancia del orden de los 500 o 800 kms, y aglomeraciones urbanas de más de un millón de habitantes.  Más claro el agua.

Conclusión, cada nuevo tren AVE SIEMENS cuesta nada menos que 28 millones de Euros.  Estos nuevos trenes llevan unos motores distribuido en concreto 16 motores de 550 KW cada uno.  El gasto eléctrico es brutal.  Las ultimas noticias hablan de la cancelación del AVE Madrid - Lisboa. Da la sensación que esto puede ser la nueva burbuja.  Si fuera así el panorama seria pavoroso.

Otro gran fiasco de infractuturas seria El Aeropuerto de Castellón donde gobierna el PP, Terra Mítica.  Más le dejo con la guinda que adorna la tarta de los despropósitos urbanísticos de mi país.  La nueva aberración en marcha, el AVE Vigo – Pontevedra - Santiago Coruña.  El Aeropuerto de Huesca, 40 millones el coste de la obra, 6,000 pasajeros al año.  Y así podría enumerar decenas de proyectos que están arruinando a España.  Si esto no es una Republica Bananera, díganme ustedes que son entonces.

Ghost Airport

These days the press has delighted us with the surreal news that is deserving of the comedic magazine La Codorniz, that Renfe has suspended the train of AVE that covered the route Toledo – Albacete, with a stop in Cuenca.  Many who have been stunned by this news have asked, what the hell is happening here when this route had only been inaugurated with much aplomb by the illustrious Jose Blanco, Minister of Fomento and other provost of the socialist party of Spain just six months ago.  The answer is that the route is not viable due to the fact that it is used by only nine passengers.  From here, I propose that the medal of civil merit be bestowed upon these valiant citizens.  Not even the best duo Berlanga and Azcona could have exceeded this grotesque tale.

Have you Heard that someone has resigned due to this cock-up?  I haven’t.  Anyone assumed responsibility?  No one.  Spain as a nouveau riche has embarked upon a pharaonic modernization of its railway lines during these last years.  The autonomous communities whose little kingdoms of factions have desired to have this train without giving any thought to the cost that will accompany the project.  And what high costs had resulted from installing this toy.  Crunching the numbers, the costs of this fiasco of Toledo – Albacete would have cost the Spanish people the chilling sum of 3,500 million Euros.

Yes, there are no words to describe the responsible person for this megalomaniacal waste of funds.  He is none other than the Jesuit Jose Bono.  And not content with the AVE, he has strived to build an airport in Ciudad Real which is worthy of Castilla la Mancha, said and done, the construction of this airport was carried out.  In addition, just after a few years, this is another resounding failure, neither are there planes nor passengers.  There are only two commercial flights per day, one in the morning that travels to and from Barcelona.  The other is to and from Paris.

Now there is talk surrounding the jewel of the crown, the AVE Madrid – Valencia, with a cost of 6,500 million of Euros.  Some studies have stated that the construction would create a deficit, since it would only be feasible if there are 5 to 9 million of passengers per year.  In addition the most optimistic estimates come in at 4 million.  Not to worry, the deficit will be borne by the long-suffering and sheepish passenger.  This is of little consequence as the train of these characteristics will bring along with it lots of prestige.

Dear Sirs of the government, there are countries that are wealthier than Spain.  For example, Norway, and it is certain that it would never plan an AVE even though it is swimming in petrol.  Of course, the Nordic people are pragmatic and the seriousness in the control of costs forms the main pillar of its democratic system.  The most logical is that the AVE line be implemented only for distances from 500 km to 800 km, and with urban densities of more than one million of habitants.  This is clearer than water.
