USA – Newt Gingrich and Child Slavery

Dentro de la espectral galería de candidatos republicanos a las primarias para saber quien competirá con Barack Obama, la concentración de ineptos es increíble.  La ignorancia en política exterior de algunos de ellos es aterradora, por ejemplo tenemos el cómico caso de Herman Caín  al afirmar que en el gobierno actual de Libia hay ministros talibanes y de Al Queda.  También tenía dudas que China tuviese armas nucleares.  Pero hay mas no se vayan.  La candidata Michelle Bachmann llegó a afirmar que si ella es presidenta, exigirá al gobierno de Iraq una indemnización de varios millones de dólares, que iría destinado a cada familia de soldados norteamericanos muertos en combate en Iraq.  Y a esta señora no se le cae la cara de vergüenza después de estas sarcásticas declaraciones.  De Rick Perry, ¿qué se puede decir?  Serviría mejor de payaso en el circo que en la Casa Blanca.  El único honesto es Ron Paul y este nunca lograra ser presidente.

Para mí el más peligroso de todos ellos es Newt Gingrich.  Él sí que puede frenar la reelección de Obama.  Uno de los meritos es su veteranía política al haber sido el portavoz de la Cámara de Representante.  Recientemente este líder del capitalismo más feroz afirmó, sin que se le moviese un pelo de su hermosa y blanca cabellera, lo siguiente, “Los niños desfavorecidos mayores de 9 años podrían trabajar de manera temporal.”  Púes según su caritativa interpretación, las leyes laborales infantiles son estúpidas, ya que los niños deberían trabajar en sus escuelas.  Para defender sus retrógradas ideas recurrió una vez más al sueño americano, dando a entender que muchos llegaron al éxito vendiendo periódicos o lavando coches con solo 9 o 14 años.  ¡Qué enternecedor!  Ni en una película de Frank Capra lo hubieran hecho mejor.  Da la impresión que este pulpo capitalista leía mucho a Charles Dickens y sus novelas, que retrataba el trabajo infantil en los albores de la Revolución Industrial.  

Este elemento fue asesor de Freddie Mac, la empresa más importante en USA dentro del sector de las concesiones de hipotecas inmobiliarias.  Está empresa fue la que desencadenó la actual crisis económica.  Este señor se embolsó, según él, la módica cantidad de 300,000 dólares durante el periodo de 1999 a 2008.  Pero los informes de prensa hablan de 1.6 millones de dólares.  ¡Qué impunidad, la de este siniestro personaje haciendo apología del trabajo infantil!  A este paso no tardaremos en volver a las mismas condiciones laborales del siglo XIX.  Este Newt Gingrich se crió y amamantó políticamente de la mano de Barry Golwater, aparte de ser un gran admirador de su gran ídolo político, el Senador McCarthy.  En una palabra representa la Santísima Trinidad del filibusterismo Republicano encarnado por Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon y George W Bush.

Within the ghastly ranks of republican candidates of the primary elections, who will eventually come head to head with Barack Obama, the level of incompetence is stunning.  The ignorance of foreign policy is frightful among some of them, for example we have the comical case of Herman Cain, who affirmed that within the present government of Libya, there are Taliban minister and of Al Qaeda.  He also had doubts that the Chinese have nuclear weapons.  But this is just the tip of the iceberg.  The candidate Michelle Bachmann declared that if she becomes the president, she will demand that the government of Iraq pay an indemnity of several million of dollars, which will be distributed to each family of North American soldiers who had been killed in action in Iraq.  This woman surely has no shame when she made these sarcastic declarations.  Of Rick Perry, what can we say about him?  He would make a better clown in the circus than in the White House.  The only honest candidate is Ron Paul but most likely he will not become president.

But the most dangerous of all of them must be Newt Gingrich.  Yes, he could be the one to rain on Obama´s re-election parade.  One of his merits must be his experience in the political arena as he was previously the spokesman of the House of Representatives.  Recently this supporter of the most ferocious form of Capitalism affirmed the following without batting an eyelid, “There is no reason why underprivileged children who are older than 9 years of age could not work in temporary jobs.”  Then according to his twisted interpretation, the existing child labor laws must be nonsensical, since these children would have to work in their schools.  In order to defend his retrograde ideas he resorted once again to the American dream, alleging that many had arrived at success by selling newspapers or washing cars just at the age of 9 or 14 years.   How touching!  Not even the great Frank Capra could have captured this better on screen.  It gives the impression that this capitalist monster has read too much into the lines of Charles Dickens´s novels, which portrayed child labor during the dawn of the Industrial Revolution.  

This man was the adviser of Freddie Mac, one of the most important companies in the USA within the sector of the real estate mortgages.  This is the company that triggered the present economic crisis.  According to him, he pocketed the reasonable amount of 300,000 dollars during the period from 1999 to 2008.  But according to press reports, the amount would be closer to 1.6 million dollars.   What audacity and impunity, of such a sinister person who advocates child labor!  At this rate we would be returning to the days of 19^th century under the same labor conditions.  Newt Gingrich honed his skills at the hands of Barry Golwater; apart from this, he is an admirer of his idol, the Senator McCarthy.  In other words, he represents the Sacred Trinity of the Republican greed, incarnated by Ronald Reagan, Richard Nixon and George W Bush.
