Hoy el Estado de Israel en mi opinión ha cometido una de las torpezas políticas más grande de su historia, y esta no es otra que el inconcebible trato llevado a cabo con los terroristas de Hamas. Sinceramente este intercambio del soldado Gilat Shalist por 1,027 prisioneros palestinos, entre los cuales hay 280 con cadena perpetua, es un alto precedente, que más pronto que tarde se verán sus nefastas consecuencias. Me pregunto, más que perplejo, ¿Dónde diablo está el pragmatismo de dicha operación? Se le esta dando vida y munición a esta lacra execrable de Hamas. Pues por esta regla de tres, cualquier día Hamas volverá a secuestrar a otro soldado, y así un día no habrá ni un solo terrorista en las cárceles de Israel.
El secuestro se podría convertir en algo habitual, esto dividiría más al pueblo judío. Pues no satisface a nadie esta insólita solución. Claro tiene uno que ponerse en la piel de la familia del soldado, quieren lo mejor para su hijo, y lo quieren vivo. Más en esta disyuntiva, para mí la Nación está por encima del drama humano de esta familia. Esto es más o menos tratar la enfermedad, y no al paciente. El secuestro es y será la enfermedad que seguirá sufriendo Israel, pero los enfermos y el tratamiento será distinto con cada uno de ellos, en este caso en mi opinión, la enfermedad ha ganado al paciente.
Entres los angelitos que serán liberados, se encuentra la flor y nata del terrorismo de Hamas. Por ejemplo Walid Anjer, con 36 cadenas perpetuas, culpable de la voladura del café Moment en Jerusalén con 11 personas asesinadas. Este mismo pájaro puso una bomba en la cafetería de la universidad Hebrea de Jerusalén con siete muertos, vaya pieza. Hussam Badran, miembro de la célula que cometió el sangriento ataque a la discoteca Delfinarium, con 21 jóvenes hechos pedazos. Abed Alaziz Salaha, linchó hasta morir a dos soldados en Ramala. Fhadi Juaba, miembro de Hama en Hebrón; su hazaña era asesinar a 17 judíos dentro de un autobús haciendo estallar una bomba en Haifa en el 2003. Así hasta 280 terroristas que saldrán a la calle, debido a este estúpido y suicida intercambio, una vida por 1,027. Pensaba que los judíos eran unos expertos en matemáticas, veo que me equivoque. Pero lo más importante es que el rescate de Gilat Shalit no debería llevar aparejado el asesinato o secuestro de otros judíos. Lo más grave de este torpe trueque es que los lideres de Hama liberados podrán vivir en Egipto. ¡Qué tremendo error, Señor Netanyahu!

Of course one has to put themselves in the shoes of the soldier’s family; they would want the best for their son, and they want him alive. But in this dilemma, for me the Nation’s interest should come before that of a single family’s human drama. This will then be akin to treating the disease, and not the patient. The kidnappings will become the disease that will besiege Israel, but the patients and the treatment will be different in each of the cases, and in this case in my opinion, the disease has overcome the patient.
