SPAIN - Yo Acuso

Acuso a los ciudadanos de mi patría, que es España.  De su cobardia moral y de su entreguismo al becerro del oro que en nuestro materialista tiempo que nos ha tocado vivir.  Se llama consumísmo irracional y codicia.  No hay ni una capa de la sociedad que no haya sido corrompida por este sistema perverso y depredador donde la corruptela es la norma más extendida entre la mayoria de la poblacíon.

Por supuesto los gobiernos de turno ya sean los socialista entre comilla, o la llamada derechona representada por el PP, todos ellos han contaminado al pueblo a traves de sus múltiples escándalos.  Llamese en el pasado Filesa, ahora Mercasevilla por los socialista y ahora el PP con el caso Gunter.  Pero son tantos los casos que me faltaría papel para mencionarlo todos.  Esto a nivel de partidos politicos, pero al pueblo llano tambien le encanta ser corrompido, como ejemplo el trabajo sumerguido, la compra de votos en Extremadura y Andalucia, las mordidas del tres por ciento en la civilizada Cataluña.

Es para enrojecer de verguenza.  Todo el mundo intenta sacar tajada como pueda.  Mientras tanto la metastasis de la corrupcion se extiende por el cuerpo de esta, mi querida España.  ¿Quíen traerá la cura moral para este enfermo y desgraciado pais, victima complaciente de su casta politica?  Puede que una catarsis sea la mejor solucion, aunque tengo mis dudas.  Pues, si 5 millones de parados no quieren parar el pais, la verdad es que la enfermedad moral en tal caso ya es inremediable y solo nos queda rezar.

I acuse the citizens of my country, which is Spain.  Of its moral cowardice and for submitting to the allure of gold, in these materialistic times in which we are living.  It's called irrational consumism and greed.  There is not one layer of society that has not been corrupted by this perverse and predatory system, where corruption is the norm among the majority of the population.

Of course the interchanging governments, be they the "socialists" or the so called right wing, represented by PP, all of them have contaminated the populace through its various scandals.  It could be Filesa in the past, now it is Mercasevilla related to the socialists, and now PP with the Gunter case.  But there have so many cases that I would not be mention each and every one of them.  This is at the political level, but the populace itself also likes to be corrupted, for example in the hidden labour market, buying of votes in Extremadura and Andalucia, the 3% cut in the civilised Cataluña.

All the above should fill a person with shame.  The whole world tries to get its cut in whichever way it can.  All this while the metastasis of corruption extends through the while body of this country, my beloved Spain.  Who will bring the cure of morality for this sick and unfortunate country, a willing victim of its political caste?  Catharsis could be the best solution, even though I have my doubts.  Well, if 5 million unemployed do not want to change the country, the truth is that the moral disease in this case could already be uncurable, and all we can do now is pray.

JAPAN / RELIGION - Fragility

Después de cuatro días de haber visto los desvastadores y terríbles efectos del apocalíptico terremoto y el consiguiente tsunami en Japon, no puedo quitarme de la memoria las increibles y aterradoras imagenes ofrecida por todos los medios de comunicacion del mundo.  Nunca antes una catastrofe de esta indole me habian impactado como ahora. Y trato de reflexionar intentando encontrar la respuesta pero no la encuentro. 

¿Por qué este castigo?  - se preguntarán las  personas con unas fuertes y solidas conviccíones religiosas.  Los no creyentes o agnosticos tambien se dirán.  ¿Dónde estaba Dios? ¿Es este tragico evento un castigo a nuestra inmoralidad según los más fanaticos?  De esta manera todos buscaremos una respuesta a cual más futil y estúpida.  Sin embargo la respuesta es mas sencilla de lo que podemos imaginar.  Pues en mi opinion, los seres humanos somos las criaturas mas frágiles de la creacíon o de la evolucíon según los no creyentes.  No es un secreto que nuestro destino ha estado siempre a merced de los elementos tanto terrenales como los que concierne al cosmo.  Y para que nuestra tragedia sea mas elocuente, se nos a dado el don de la racionalidad y debido a esto siempre a traves del tiempo nos estamos interrogando nuestra efímera existencia y los miedos nos atenazan como corderillos.

A veces cuando contemplo a una humilde hormiga, envidio su corta existencia.  Pues ella no tiene que preguntarse que hay despues de la muerte.  Creo que la tragedia de Japon es una ocasion para pensar en nuestra frugal y banal momento en esta desdichada y esteril existencia.

After 4 days of witnessing the devastating and terrible effects of the apocalyptic earthquake and the resulting tsunami in Japan, I cannot wipe from my memory the incredible and terrifying images shown by the global media.  Never before has a catastrophe of this category impacted me in this way.  Thus I try to reflect upon it in an effort to find the answer but to no avail.

What is the reason for this ordeal? - a question asked by many religious people with strong and solid convictions in their faith.  Even the atheists and agnostic people will ask, "Where was God?"  Is this tragic event the punishment for our immorality according to the most fanatic people?  In this vein, we all search for answers, even though is is futile and silly.  The answer could be simpler than we imagine.  In my opinion, we human beings are the most fragile creatures of Creation or Evolution (according to the atheists).  It is no secret that our destiny has always been at the mercy of the elements, be they terrestrial or cosmic.  In order that our own tragedy seems more eloquent, we have been given the gift of rationale.  As a result of this, through the passage of time, we have been asking questions about our ephemeral existence.  We are like lambs to the slaughter, gripped by fear.

Sometimes when I observe an humble ant, I envy its short existence.  It does not ask questions about the hereafter.  I think the tragedy in Japan is an opportunity for us to reflect upon our frugal and trivial moment in this unfortunate and sterile existence.

MODERN SOCIETY - Aborto: un Crimen Tolerado

Toda muerte violenta es condenable.  Pues debido a nuestras creencias religiosas, espirituales o éticas, sabemos que tenemos el deber de rechazarla y abominar de tales actos.  Tanto si es ejecutada por los gobiernos a traves de sus erroneas leyes, o por cualquier fanática interpretacíon religiosa.

Tenemos ejemplos tan ilustrativos como China con sus 5,000 ejecuciones al año, algo atroz, que ha sido desnunciado tantas veces por la Amnistia Internacíonal.   O el caso de Iran donde la homosexualidad y el adulterio son castigado con la horca y para la mujer con la terríble lapidacíon.  Tambíen en la democratica America tenemos vigente la pena de muerte en muchos estados.   Por supuesto, todos los gobiernos se apoyan en lo mismo.  El castígo es la unica medída para cortar la criminalidad y cualquier conato de rebelion.  Pero las organizaciones que están en contra esgrimen el consabido derecho a la vida, alegando lo inhumano y primitivo de dicho procedimiento.

Pues bien señores, tenemos un crimen muy tolerado a nivel universal y se llama aborto y ante esto nadie se manifiesta ni se inmuta.  Pero eso sí, estos sepulcros blanqueados se rajan las vestidura cuando un criminal convicto de asesinato es condenado a muerte pero no mueven ni un dedo cuando cientos de vidas son aníquiladas.  Y en algunos casos de forma repugnante y sordida como ocurrío en una clínica de Barcelona. Claro, ¿a quien le importa?  Despues de todo, se trata un feto con solo 24 semanas aunque está demostrado cientificamente que tiene un corazon que emite latidos.

¿Tanto nos hemos endurecidos que aceptamos el aborto como algo que los gobiernos pueden programar a su antojo?   ¿Quien clamará por esas vidas inocentes?  Posíblemente nuestro Karma responderá algun día a este crimen.

All violent deaths are deplorable.  As a by-product of our religious beliefs, sprituality or ethics, we know that we have to condemn and reject such abominable acts, be it executed by some erroneous laws laid down by the goverment, or by any fanatic interpretations of religion.


We have illustrative examples in China where there are 5,000 executions per year, and this has been denounced by Amnesty International on various occasions.  Or in the case of Iran, where homosexuality is punishable by hanging and adultery in women is punishable by stoning.  Even in democratic USA we still have capital punishment in many states.  Of course, all governments are in favour of the same precept, that punishment is the only method to stem crime and any forms of rebellion.  But the organisations that are against the law of crime and punishment use the well-known defense of human rights, alleging that such forms of punishment are inhumnae and primitive.


Well, my dear readers, we have a crime that is more than tolerated universally - abortion.  Few people are rallying to stop this practice.  On the other hand, those morally righteous human rights activists are outraged when a criminal is convicted of murder and sentenced to death but will not move a finger when hundreds of lives are annhilated via abortion.  And in certain cases, in the most repugnant and sordid manner, as documented by the case of a clinic in Barcelona.  Who really cares about this?  At the end of the day, we are dealing with a fetus that is only 24 weeks old, but which has been scientifically proven to possess a heart that emit heartbeats.


Have we been so hardened that we condone the act of abortion as some whimsical act that can be programmed by the governments?  Who will clamour for these innocent lives?  Possibly our Karma will one day respond to this crime.
